The television is one of the greatest man-made inventions. Imagine a world without TV. No fun, no news, no movies to watch on lazy afternoons. The television has become a part of everyone’s daily life since its invention. Rarely do you see a household without a TV set nowadays. In fact, most houses own more than one.

Television has lots of advantages: perhaps the biggest advantage would be that it provides information in lots of ways. The advertisements, for example, make us aware of certain needs. The news would not be readily available for people on the other side of the globe without the TV. Both children and adults also learn a lot from it. Children’s channels nowadays have been very influential in every child’s learning process. Many kids from non-English speaking countries for example, have learned to speak excellent English because of these very helpful TV programs.

However, due to the advancement of technology, analog TVs are no longer usable. For residents in the US, for example who are dependent on their antennas to view shows on TV would not be able to access their channels. This is because everything has shifted from analog to digital TV. Those who have old TV sets, they could not possibly throw their TVs away just because of this. All they need would be to purchase a converter digital so they could view their favorite shows on TV again.
