More Than Skin Deep
I think it sucks if you have acne. No, I don’t mean to demean those who have. But I know that it can be both painful and uncomfortable on the skin, as well as painful to on one’s self esteem.
That is because our world puts so much emphasis on having a clear, flawless complexion. The TV commercials show young women who are screaming their hearts out and having nightmares whenever they have a singular red bump on their face.
I think that is absurd. Having a pimple does not make you any less of a person. Gee, I really don’t know how to undo the stigma that pimples and acne have on our society and our young people. But at least I can teach my kids about it.
Acne is such a big thing that we have medications like Acnepril that are more than just skin deep. These are oral medications treat the acne at its source. As for its safety, I think Acnepril is relatively safe because it is prescribed. But well, if acne can be cured by surface medications, then I think that is safer than taking oral meds.

My skin is prone to acne, but when I was living in the Philippines, Eskinol had been my best friend in helping me deal with that.
I guess it just depends on each person, kung ano ang hiyang sa skin.
