On Being a Medical Transcriptionist

Wednesday, September 30th, 2009

One of my friends told me that she earns money online from being a stay at home medical transcriptionist. She said the pay is good and maybe I should try it also. I am interested but somehow hesitant because I don’t have any medical related background in terms of education and even from experience. Because of this, she said that if I am interested, I should invest in taking medical coding training courses online. She said that if I invest my time in learning, I may gradually get what I have spent.

Anyway, the advice sounded very much appealing but I guess I am not that great when it comes to listening audio files. I think I have a bad hearing! LOL!

Got a Temporary Digital Camera!

Wednesday, September 30th, 2009

I think most of you remember my post that my Kodak Easy Share C743 Digital Camera had its LCD screen broken that is why it is impossible to make a preview of photos taken. A few weeks ago, my friend offered to pawn her Sony Cyber shot DSC-W55 digital camera to me. I didn’t hesitate to accept her offer since I wanted to have a digital camera ready before I gave birth to my third child.

Since I am a photo and short video fanatic, I wanted to use my 2GB micro SD with it. Unfortunately, I don’t have an adaptor. That is why I have no choice but to be contented with the 1GB memory card it has. Aside from that, I am happy that I have a digital camera even though it’s just a temporary one.

Lack of Work Opportunities

Wednesday, September 30th, 2009

Since our economy has not progress a bit, many Filipinos are still out of work. The number of graduates is more than the number of work available here that is why most of them seek work abroad. And since most of the newly graduates are nurses, they are all busy doing healthcare job search online. They wanted to have a job, if not a nurse, at least related to a healthcare profession.

Anyway, you can’t blame the young and brilliant workforce of our country leaving and seeking their destiny abroad. Aside from the lack of work opportunity here, the labor cost is just so low that it can’t even compensate the work delivered.

I myself am unemployed but I don’t mind. I have found ways to earn from home. Though the income is just a meager amount, I satisfy myself with the blissful opportunity to be with my children all the time.

On Term Life Insurance

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

After the onslaught of Bagyong Ondoy (International Code Name: Ketsana), many Filipinos have suffered. Most families, rich and poor, shared their own taste of the storms fury. Now, thousands of families have lost their homes, cars, properties and even the life of their loved ones. It was a terrible event and left many Filipinos in tears.

When calamities happen, most people will now think about the future. What will happen to my loved ones if I am suddenly taken from them? Will they just cry and seek help from others or will they be somehow secured with a little something left behind for them?

This is when people start thinking of getting term life insurance with ROP (return of premiums). Well, some may consider getting a plain term life insurance but others wanted to have an ROP with it. Why? Because if you get what you have paid the company after few years, it just means you have invested ZERO on your term life insurance policy.

Anyway, term life insurance usually covers calamities like this. They call this as “acts of God” or force majeure. But when it comes to cars, I think most auto insurance company does not cover this.

Look Fat!

Sunday, September 20th, 2009

I am already in my ninth month of pregnancy and I look fat. Well, not that fat like someone who needs to take some weight loss products but I have gained weight tremendously that my face has changed. Well, my legs look fat too because of water retention and it looks like it’s going to explode!

Anyway, my husband always tell me don’t worry how I look because surely after giving birth, I will return to normal. The thin ole me! Honestly, I don’t want to get too thin, just enough to look and feel healthy inside out!
