Stuck Here!
Tuesday, January 27th, 2009Living in a room has its advantages and disadvantages. Of course, one of its advantages is that we can save a lot compared to renting a house. Secondly, there are some other people around that you can talk and have fellowship with. Aside from that, there’s nothing else!
Now, let’s go to the disadvantages. First and foremost, we don’t have any privacy! Second, it’s not spacious and because of that some of our things are stored in boxes outside our room. Third, we can’t install organizers making our appliances and my books look like they are placed in a warehouse. Forth, you can’t save on mineral water, electricity and other stuff because you have to share it. I am not selfish but we can’t buy extra for four families always. And the list just goes on…
But do we have a choice? Honestly, no! We are stuck here for the next few years until we have paid off some of our major debts. Hays! How I wish for our own home soon.
Awake and Blogging
Sunday, January 25th, 2009It’s already 5:15am when I begun typing this post. I have been awake for almost 3 hours now. I have to wake up because my son was hungry and I need to prepare him some cereal.
Anyway, we slept early last night. There was a brown out that caused us to forcibly close our eyes but when the lights came in, my husband and my son were already fast asleep. So, I took the liberty to sleep too. I haven’t slept that much yesterday so I felt I deserve some little break.
Around 2:00am, my hubby woke me up. I thought he woke me up so that I could eat. The fact was, he woke me up so that our son could eat. LOL!! My son woke him and asked for food but in the end, he gave me hug so that I can do it for him. Men!
Well, I have no choice; I am vying for the best mom of their lives! So, I heated some water while I was searching online for some free insurance quotes. Then after the water boiled, I prepared him a hot cereal for his breakfast at dawn. Now, both of us can’t sleep again. My baby boy is playing with his PS2 while the mom is looking for ways to learn how to make enough money online.
By the way, have you experienced something like this?
2009: Health Conciousness and Weight Loss
Friday, January 23rd, 2009For the past few weeks, I have been taking you down the memory lane for the year 2008. So to change the flow of the wind a bit, let me talk about 2009. What do you have in mind? Do have New Year’s resolutions? Goals you want to accomplish?
Well, I guess most people nowadays are health conscious. Some wanted to gain weight while others wanted to slim down but in most cases most are taking the steps to have successful weight loss regimen. Why you say? It’s very much obvious that today’s lifestyle and the food we eat causes people to become obese even in children. The physicality of every endeavor has been reduced to sitting down or few body movements while the foods are more on fats rather than a right diet.
Due to this so called lifestyle and a fast paced environment, people have less or no time doing a regular exercise and because of that new diet pills are invented almost every year to provide solutions to that much needed weight reduction. But honestly, I believe diet pills are most effective if they are combined with a healthy diet and a regular exercise. If you don’t have time to go to the gym, you can always bring sneakers with you when you go to work, either you climb up or go down the stairs. That can save you time going to gym. Aside from that, start eating a healthy diet and avoid instant and fatty foods. They may be delicious but they can store up fats quickly.
So, if slimming down is your goal this year, try to become balance. A diet pill is only effective when you body metabolism responds to it and also combines with a healthy diet and lifestyle. If you want to take one, see a doctor first so that he can advise you want will suit your needs and that he can also program your dietary needs.
Enjoy 2009! Hope to see you inches thinner by the end of the year!
2008: In Memory of Heath Ledger
Wednesday, January 21st, 2009
Everyone knows that the year 2008 was the year the Australian actor Heath Andrew Ledger was taken from the public lime light. He died at the age of 28 after finishing the movie, The Dark Knight. His role there was the most critically acclaimed performance ever as the Joker.
Heath Ledger died accidentally from taking a toxic mixture of prescription drugs. Rumors has it that he was trying to sleep and have taken a dangerous amount which later took his life after being unconscious for a few minutes when his housekeep found him.
It’s too bad to see young and successful people die at the midst of their blossoming careers; while others are busy trying to find an accurate term life insurance quote for them in preparation for the future. Oh well, I guess that is how life works. You never know what will happen.
Anyway, many will surely miss Heath Ledger. I did like him very much in his movie “A Knight’s Tale” in 2001.
Cautiousness and Prayer
Wednesday, January 7th, 2009My hubby is working in a geothermal plant. He is in charge of the work planning and scheduling of their department. Though he is assigned much on paper works, he also does much field work at their plant. He shows the technicians how to do about their work. He also troubleshoots when there are problems that the technicians or operators couldn’t handle.
If he is in the office, there is nothing much to worry about. But when he is at the field, there are many things that might happen. If something went wrong with machines and gadgets in the plant, accidents are likely be the outcome. When he was still starting out with his job, I was always worried every time he goes to the field. So that I would stop worrying, he always assured me that their plant is equipped with the latest safety equipments. He also told me that all employees were trained accordingly with necessary safety measures.
Well, I guess he is right. They are really indeed a high technology plant and so as how they deal with safety but I have this concept that machines, even how perfect it is, if human errors occur, unexpected disaster might strike the plant. Machines work accordingly but sometimes if humans are careless, you can say good bye to technology.
So, I told him, it’s better to be careful always and to pray; having the Almighty as a guide, protector and wisdom provider always do wonders at work.
